Rules and regulations:
Students are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times.
Students need to be under parental supervision when not in the Youth Hall, and are to be picked up promptly after class.
Students should be on time to classes and should aim to arrive at least 10mins before starting time.
In class, visitor observation is at the discretion of the dance instructor.
Please keep noise in the waiting areas to a minimum. Parents may watch through the window providing this does not distract the students.
Bullying is not tolerated at this academy and all students should respect the personal space of others.
Ballet shoes should not be worn outside – this will keep the shoes clean and in good condition.
Please keep all personal items and dance wear with you at all times. Please label all dance equipment with your name. En Pointe Ballet Academy will keep a lost property box at the Youth Hall, but cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
Chewing gum is not allowed.
Parental permission for the use of student photographs for advertising purposes is agreed, unless written request is received specifically stating the contrary.
Videoing of the ballet classes is not allowed, unless approved by the instructor. Photographs taken during class time should be kept as personal, unless approved by instructor and other parties involved.
Mobile phones must be put on silent or switched off in the youth hall.
Only adults are permitted to use the tea and coffee making facilities provided, and must clean up after themselves. Children should not go behind the counter into the kitchen area.
Tuition
The first trial class is free for all new prospective students.
Classes are paid in 1/2 term or termly blocks, and can be paid by cash, cheque made payable to Miss A. Hutchinson, or a bank transfer can be set up.. Payment is due the first week of each ½ term.
Holidays
The Academy is closed for all public holidays, and is open during term time in accordance with the majority of local schools of the area, unless otherwise informed.
Missed and make-up classes
Classes cancelled by the instructor will be made up at a later date at no extra cost.
Classes missed by students must still be paid for - students may attend a make-up class on an alternative day if one is available
Dress Code
All hair must be up and off of the face, if possible in a ballet bun.
No jewellery or watches are to be worn in classes.
Any ballet tutu or leotard can be worn for Tutu Tots, providing they do not restrict movement and that the legs and feet are clearly visible.
Ballet uniforms are to be purchased from the instructor when attending classes aged 5yrs+.
Sweaters/warm-ups may be worn in cold weather, must be form-fitting and must be removed when requested by the instructor.
